Cormorant perch in use off the #WestKirby Marine Lake this morning. #crapNaturePhotography
Play Spot the Juvenile Robin (?). Something of a fixture on Echo Lane lately.

Puddles, actual standing water. It’s been a while…
Slightly dismal morning brightened by the sighting of a small flock of egrets by the Marine Lake.

Thoughts are with those affected by yesterday’s tragic events on Water Street. #YNWA
doh, the website for the West Kirby Music Festival on 7th June is www.westkirbylive.co.uk
Solitary fledgling moorhen with parent this afternoon at the mere. Other parent still on nest so possibly more to come (managed four last year).
Very blustery on the prom this morning so mooched down Banks Road instead. Signs for West Kirby Live music festival but website doesn’t seem active despite date of June 7th when announced in March. Also in June an open studio arts fest across Wirral. In other news the bijou bookshop is apparently moving and expanding soon. #WestKirby

Moorhens built a nest in the middle of the mere. At least one fledgling clambering about in the lily pads. No sign of herons. Let’s hope it stays that way. #crapNaturePhotography
I’ve been a bit ho-hum about Sultans Of Swing in the past but the 13 minute San Antonio Live 1985 version is great fun.
Intriguing plan to develop buildings on Hilbre Island into an art and science visitor attraction. Opens early June. BBC News - Hilbre Island: Plan for art and science centre on nature reserve - BBC News

Cliffwalk (and YOT) busy today. Flag iris and male orange-tip butterfly were highlights. #Thurstaston #Wirral

Visit to #Frankby cemetery punctuated by a cat, a heron on the mere and a rather spectacular laburnum.

Nice gallery of #Wirral VE Day photos from 1945.

Eveningtide at the cemetery. #fensterFreitag
Dearth of ducklings spotted so far, just singletons at Ness last week and in the small pond at Frankby cemetery today. Hopefully more to come.

After the strides, coffee at the Lady Lever. Outside many ladies dressed in purple with red hats. Very striking and presumably members of the Red Hat Society. They seemed to be enjoying Port Sunlight. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_…
Burning up the back straight (I wish). Anyways, a nice place to get some strides in. #chariotsOfFire #Bebington #Wirral

All quiet on the West Kirby front.
