Still distinctly chilly but snowdrops hold the promise of warmer days ahead. No Marvin today but first signs that the moorhen with the broken foot is slowly recovering. Limping rather than hopping now.
Low turnout (do ducks really like drizzle?) but spirits lifted by a brief appearance by Marvin (as I’ve decided to call him).
I’m yours, you’re mine. Automatically sunshine. 🌞

Last time I was at Goodison was 30th December 1969. It was perishing.
great video of friday’s glow green walk for clatterbridge cancer charity. www.youtube.com/watch
Started a Pixelfed account. I’ve never used Insta so I’m somewhat clueless but will use it to post most of the photos from tonight’s expedition. My guess however is that we’ll be a moving notspot so updates may be infrequent.
This sounds interesting, possibly a must-see even. I wonder how it strikes a balance between immersion and throughput. Travel into the Earth in a new immersive experience at The Williamson | Wirral View wirralview.com/travel-ea…
Frosty jog/walk this morning with the view across the Wirral lost in the mist. Heard three woodpeckers in the cemetery yesterday but none today. Can’t blame them if they were avoiding the chill.
Signed up for Glow Green night walk on Friday in aid of Clatterbridge Cancer Hospital. There may be photos… youtu.be/LOP-uEcxU…
First song thrush heard this morning. Pair of male mallards knocking seven bells out of each other on the mere. Even the normally placid moorhens are taking exception to an interloper. That time of year, I guess.
Update on consequences of recent cyber incident at #Wirral University Hospital Trust. Much as expected unfortunately. go.theregister.com/feed/www….
Chinese New Year dekkies much in evidence in Liverpool this morning. #YearOfTheSnake
Statue of self and better half pre-coffee in Walker Art Gallery this morning.
Pleasant morning visit to Ness and RSPB Burton. Latter is temporarily free admission on Saturday due to staff shortages though donations are encouraged. Cafe is closed Monday and Tuesday. #Wirral
I know you’re not supposed to have favourites.
Pale-bellied Brent geese on the West Kirby Marine Lake this afternoon, plus a more general view across the estuary with a few sunbeams poking optimistically through the cloud.
Tempted though timing is awkward. clatterbridgecharity.org/events/gl…
Uploaded my January sketch for the Bradford City of Culture initiative. Hopefully it won’t get displayed online but it’s been a fun challenge. Looking forward to February’s subject.
Giving Qobuz a go as part of a change of online subscriptions. Belatedly listened to Keith Jarrett’s Köln Concert and then a bit of Miles Davis. Thus far a happy camper.
