Very much liking Richard Ashcroft’s new album, especially the more up tempo tracks like Lovin' You, Heavy News, I’m a Rebel and Lover.

Sorry to hear of Wirral-born Patricia Routledge’s demise. Will remember her as the Dowager Duchess of Denver in the BBC’s adaptation of the Dorothy L Sayers Wimsey books but what a wonderful and wide ranging career she had.

Walk on the #KC3P from #Thurstaston to Banks Road for coffee at YOT and wondering how much the path is going to cut up in the coming months. Speaking of which, intrigued by the backstory to this abandoned boat which has been sawn in half. A saw and pot of paint are visible in the cabin.

Still seeking out softer woodland trails so back to #Royden once more. Water in the stream for the first time after last night’s deluge. Pleased to see the walled garden open, then coffee at the courtyard cafe.

Wander around a very quiet Ness, coffee at Burton Manor cafe and then a quick visit to RSPB Burton where the cafe is now open every day apparently.

A damp Port Sunlight this morning. Amused to see the “Please do not touch” sign on Gibson’s Pandora in the Lady Lever. Bemused by the presence of only six stars on the Blessed Damozel (poem had seven). Coffee at Hulme Hall and a quick breeze through the garden centre without buying anything.
