Mystery object and clue.

Even Marvin was being a bit feisty. The mallards, of course, were having none of it.

Friendly turnstones on the prom at #WestKirby #Wirral this morning.

Spring is in the air!

A tree with bare branches and a few light-colored blossoms stands against a clear blue sky.

Time of year when buildings are still visible through trees. The Column and St Bridget’s, West Kirby, #Wirral

A narrow sandstone staircase ascends through a wooded area with a tall tower peeking through the trees.A scenic churchyard features an old church with a tall tower, surrounded by tombstones and lush greenery.

Coffee and tea cake at newly reopened Carlee’s on Banks Road, West Kirby this morning. Turns out they also have fairly extensive brunch and lunch menus. #Wirral #influencer

Lived here a good while now but still haven’t figured out how to walk the Wirral way.

A pathway labeled "Wirral Way" is flanked by trees and a white picket fence, leading into a wooded area.

A serene pond reflects nearby trees and shrubs under a clear blue sky.

Male mallards looking very snazzy at present, not least those iridescent dark green head feathers. It turns out the basis for this is well understood (just not by me, heh). royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.10…

Very nice animated film of the history of Ellesmere Port. youtu.be/3psk_iR4B…

And then there were two (mandarin ducks).

Upcoming: #Wirral Viking Festival in mid-June. Not quite my era perhaps but very worthy I’m sure. www.thewirralvikingfestival.co.uk

Brighter day if still a little chilly. Currently somewhat hors de combat so no jogging but still aiming to get the steps in.

Local scenery, alpacas and lentils. Sounds good. #wirral www.independent.co.uk/life-styl…

Still distinctly chilly but snowdrops hold the promise of warmer days ahead. No Marvin today but first signs that the moorhen with the broken foot is slowly recovering. Limping rather than hopping now.
