Glorious day for a clifftop walk to #Heswall Shore. Coffee at YOT (now open Mon-Sun) and a chance to admire the new gates down to the shore. Checked for #tadpoles (reduced in number) on the way back to Thurstaston. #Wirral

Dearth of ducklings spotted so far, just singletons at Ness last week and in the small pond at Frankby cemetery today. Hopefully more to come.

Today’s unexpected nature lesson was watching a moorhen climb a tree with a chunk of bread (not my doing) in its beak to feed its brood in the nest which was quite high up. Yes, I should have taken photos.
